OPAL RACHEL GODSEY, 90, of Cedar Falls, died after a brief illness on Friday, January 13, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. She was born April 16, 1915 in Cleveland, Missouri, the daughter of Howard and Jesse (Noise) Craycraft. Opal married James Seldon Godsey on October 13, 1935 in Belton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1963. Opal was a secretary and bookkeeper for many years at Service Printing Company, Herrich Furniture and Campbell Supplies. She was a past noble grand and secretary in the Rebekahs and was a member of the American Business Women. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce (Larry) Thipps, of Stockton, California; her son, James S. (Becky) Godsey, Jr. of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren, Sherry Riordan, Shirley Wellmann, Laureen (Tom) Ross, Julie (Shawn) Botka and Charity (Steve) Rosteck; nine great-grandchildren, Amber & Ashlie Wellmann, Amanda Logue, Elizabeth & Emily Botka, and Montana, Houston, Nevada and Jersey Jane Rosteck; two sisters, Ethel Pearl Jacoby of Raymore, Missouri and Ruby (Lloyd) Hutton of Lees Summit, Missouri, and three brothers, George Craycraft of Cleveland, Missouri, Oliver Craycraft of Peculiar, Missouri and Kenneth (Millie) Craycraft of North Kansas City, Missouri. Opal was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and three brothers, Albert, Edmond and Howard Craycraft. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.  A memorial fund will be established.
