OLGA
MADSEN, 95, of Cedar Falls, died of natural causes on Saturday, October 29, 2005, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. She was born August 2, 1910 in Tyler, Minnesota, the daughter of Johannes P. and Jane (Keller) Johansen. Olga married Harold H. Madsen on June 16, 1936 in Tyler, Minnesota . He preceded her in death on September 4, 1983. Olga was a graduate of Tyler, Minnesota High School and attended Grandview College in Des Moines, Iowa. She was a clerk at her father's general store and was co-owner of Harold's Sport Shop in Cedar Falls. Olga was a very active member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. She founded "The Reading Circle" book club and taught gymnastics in both Tyler, Minnesota and Cedar Falls. Olga enjoyed her family and was very supportive of her many friends.
Survivors include a son, Glen (Karen) Madsen of Marion, and a daughter, Lois (Lowell) Lueck of Macomb, Illinois; six grandchildren, Mike (Patty) Madsen, Steve (Michelle) Madsen, Dan (Brooke) Madsen, David (Cindy) Lueck, Diane (Terry) Kestner and Linda (David) Bollivar, and ten great-grandchildren.
Olga was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Elna Madsen and a sister in infancy; and three brothers, Arnold, Roland and Ralf Johansen.
Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or The Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
