Norma M. Gress

Norma M. Gress, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Western Home Communities South Cottage. She was born November 3, 1927 in Waterville, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Emma (Haas) Gjefle. Norma married Charles V. Gress on March 29, 1947 in Cresco, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2009. Norma was a graduate of Waterville High School and worked at Congdon Printing Company in Cedar Falls for 17 years, retiring in 1983.

She is survived by her son, Eugene (Deb) Gress, of Colo, Iowa and her daughter, Kathleen Gerjerts, of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Nicole, Graham (Katie) and Kyle (Payten), and five  great grandchildren, Zachary, Reid, Bailey, Elliot and Ryann.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Orville Gjefle and two sisters, Arlene Thies and Lillian Marshall.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 5—7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church and Western Home Communities.
