Norene Kirkevold

Norene A. Kirkevold, 82, of Waterloo, died Thursday, October 27, 2011, at ManorCare Health Services in Waterloo.  She was born January 29, 1929 in Waterloo, the daughter of Henry and Verna (Mishler) Gilbert.  Norene married Kenneth O. Kirkevold on July 30, 1949 in Waterloo.  He preceded her in death on March 1, 1989.  Norene was a partner with her husband in their business, West Union Freight Line, and was the secretary at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home from 1987 until her retirement in 1998.

Survivors include her son, Scott (Beth) Kirkevold, and her granddaughter, Randi Kirkevold, both of Waterloo.

Norene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her brother, Robert Gilbert.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011, at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church in Waterloo.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, is in charge of arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
