Naomi Ruth Holms

Naomi Ruth Holms, 97, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Pinnacle Specialty Care in Cedar Falls. She was born January 24, 1919 in Taylor County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Naomi (Butterton) Fickess. Ruth married Kenneth G. Holms on February 17, 1937 in Clarinda, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1996. Ruth was a seamstress at Hinson Manufacturing in Waterloo for 32 years, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lucrettia (Ronald) Stuber and Miriam Snider, both of Waterloo, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband; seven brothers, Albert, Floyd, Clarence, Glen, Harold, Earl and Wayne Fickess; four sisters, Bertha Mattox, Ethel Wilson, Emma Ruth, Dolly Huddle, and a grandchild, Scott Stuber.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday , November 28, 2016, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1530 Pleasant Valley Dr., Waterloo, Iowa 50701, with burial at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Kingdom Hall. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com
