NANCY JOAN
SCOTT, 71, of Cedar Falls and formerly of Edison, New Jersey, died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. She was born January 25, 1934 in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, the daughter of James F. and Ethel (Noel) Scott. Joan was an English teacher for twenty-five years with the Elizabeth School System in New Jersey, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include her three daughters, Sharon (Kevin) James of Brookline, Massachusetts, Pamela (Mark) Jacobs of Bridgewater, New Jersey and Lisa (Richard) Hurban of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; a brother, James N. (Connie) Scott of Valparaiso, Indiana; a sister, Barbara (Arthur) Gianelli of Mineola, New York, and four nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were 10:00 am Saturday, August 6, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with inurnment at Charles Baber Cemetery, both in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the local humane society.
