Nancy Carol Peters

Nancy Carol Peters, 87, of Cedar Falls, passed away at her beloved home on Monday, September 9, 2024.  She was born in West Union on August 23, 1937, daughter of Paul and Gladys (Schneider) Larson.  Nancy graduated from Elgin Valley High School with the Class of 1955, then went to Luther College to become a teacher.  She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Peters on June 5, 1958 at Elgin Lutheran Church.  Nancy taught 3rd grade at Reinbeck Schools, then at Orange School later resigning to stay home with son, Bob. She returned to work at the Waterloo Public Library before joining husband, Bob, at their business L&M Transmission in Cedar Falls.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Bob; and sister, Paula Larson.  She is survived by son, Bob (Connie) Peters of Grundy Center; grandson, Tanner (Madison) Peters of Waterloo; a brother, Gary Larson of Elgin; sisters, Sharon (Mark) Feddersen of Denver, Iowa, and Karen (Mike) Entz of Cedar Falls; and many extended family members and good friends.

Nancy's memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, September 16, 2024, in the Larsen Chapel at Nazareth Lutheran Church of Cedar Falls (please use entrance #7) with an hour of visitation prior to the service.  Memorials may be directed to Christian Crusaders Radio Program and condolences can be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.

Nancy enjoyed working in the soil and, in addition to her own extensive herb garden, she helped with weeding the community gardens.  She loved antiques and refurbished and repurposed them to enhance her beautiful New England saltbox home which was once featured in Country Living magazine, several times in the Waterloo Courier and on the Cedar Falls Tour of Gardens.  Nancy was also an accomplished quilter and sewed household items such as curtains.  She also liked to play cards with friends and family.
