Miriam C. Bartlett, 92, of Mallard Point Retirement Residence in Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. She was born June 6, 1915 in Missouri Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Glenna (Owens) Noxon. Miriam married Harry Bartlett on July 31, 1954 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1999. Miriam was a graduate of Missouri Valley High School and was a finalist in the 1933 Miss Iowa Contest. She worked for thirty-three years at Latta's School Supply and later University Book and Supply in Cedar Falls, retiring as a department manager in 1980. Miriam was a superb cook and had a tremendous love for animals, especially her dogs Chrissy and Rosie.

Survivors include her son, Ron (Ash Lynn) Lough, of North Liberty, Iowa; four grandchildren, Kimberly Lough of Plymouth, Michigan, Gregory (Denise) Lough of Cedar Falls, Michael Lough of Ypsilanti, Michigan and Brian Lough of North Liberty; seven great grandchildren; her brother, Owen (Delores) Noxon, of Green Bay, Wisconsin, and many nieces and nephews. Miriam was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Memorial services will be 10:30 am Saturday, August 25, 2007, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home & Cremation Service. There will be no visitation, her body was cremated. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society in Waterloo.
