Mildred L Wilkinson

Mildred L. Wilkinson, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.  She was born March 28, 1921 in Dows, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel P. and Anna (Kothenbeutal) Stokes.  Mildred married Gerald E. Wilkinson on May 1, 1944 in San Francisco, California.  He preceded her in death on December 24, 1996.  Mildred was a graduate of Hampton High School and worked at J.C. Penney for twenty-three years, retiring in 1982.  She was a member of First Christian Church and the Happy Thought Rebekah Lodge #256.

Survivors include three sisters, Frances Dirks of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Velma Harris and Bernice Hogan, both of Duluth, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and husband, two sisters, Isabell Stokes and Avelyn Sayre, and two brothers, Milton and Gerald Stokes.

Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, April 1, 2010, at First Christian Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, Iowa.  Visitation will be 4—7:00 pm Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the church.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
