MILDRED DOROTHY THODE was born January 18, 1912, in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of Andrew J. and Anna Helena (Nelson) Jensen. She married Einer V. Thode, and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1949. Mildred died Monday, November 29, 1999, at Western Home Martin Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the age of 87.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Marilyn Schaefer of Washburn, Iowa; her brother, Merrill Jensen of Cedar Falls; her sister, Ardyce Hansen of Cedar Falls; many nieces and nephews; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband and parents; her son Donald; one step-son, Frederick; and her brother, Wilbur "Bill" Jensen.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 1999, at Nazareth Lutheran Church Chapel, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Christian Crusaders, Cedar Falls.
