Mildred P Smith

MILDRED P. SMITH was born August 28, 1909 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Bickner) Mathes.  She married Rex Smith on August 21, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota.  He preceded her in death in August of 1973.  Mildred worked in the laundry department at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls for many years, retiring in 1972.  She died on Monday, September 21, 1998, at the Western Home in Cedar Falls at 89 years of age.

Mildred is survived by her two sisters, Esther Cook of Cedar Falls and Phyllis Beaumont of Waterloo, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her sister, Frances V. Sorensen.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m.Wednesday, September 23, 1998, at the Western Home Chapel with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.   Memorials may be directed to the Western Home or Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.
