Mildred E Simcox

MILDRED E. SIMCOX was born September 23, 1914 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Iva (Swanson) Smith.  She married Harvey N. "Ned" Simcox on February 27, 1932 in Bethany, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on July 10, 1973.  Mildred and Ned farmed near Dike and Liscomb, Iowa, and owned Simcox Realty in Cedar Falls, Iowa.  Mildred retired as the New Hartford City Clerk in 1979.  She was a long-time member of Hillside Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school class and was past church treasurer.  Mildred died Monday, April 16, 2001, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, at 86 years of age.

She is survived by her sons, Terry Simcox and his wife Janet of New Hartford, Iowa and Jack Simcox and his wife Alberta of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren, David Simcox of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sandy Thomas of Cedar Falls, Cynthia Kruse of Ft. Dodge, Douglas Simcox of Grafton, Ohio, Jacquelyn Sohn of Cedar Falls, and Deborah Irvin of Cedar Falls; twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a brother, Harold "Bud" Smith of Tamuning, Guam.  Mildred was preceded in death by her husband and parents, and a grandson, Steven Simcox.
