Michael J. King, 70, of Janesville, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa following a short illness.  He was born June 20, 1947 in Cedar Falls, the son of Donald & Lura (Boggs) King.  He married VerJean Bockhaus July 26, 1975 at St. John Lutheran Church in Frederika, Iowa.  Michael owned and operated the KarmelKorn Shoppe at Crossroads Mall in Waterloo and had also been employed in the engineering field at the Feldmeier Equipment Company in Shell Rock, Iowa before retiring in 2012.  He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Janesville.

Survivors include his wife, VerJean King of Janesville and a sister-in-law, Janice King of Cedar Falls.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James King.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly, Iowa.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.

Michael enjoyed fishing and hunting, was an avid sports fan, loved trains, and especially having the love of his wife of 42 years.
