Meta S Johnson

Meta S. N. Johnson, 90, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and formerly of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at the Augustana Health Care Center in Apple Valley. She was born January 14, 1917 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Hans and Johanna (Christensen) Beck. Meta married Bruce Billings, and they later divorced. She married Floyd J. Johnson on August 1, 1945 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1990. Meta was a waitress for many years at both the Busy Bee and the Blue Room, both in Cedar Falls. She enjoyed her wonderful garden and cooking, especially fried chicken and bull heads. Meta loved to fish, crochet, and entertain her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Ann (Al) Anderson, of Oelwein, Iowa; four grandchildren, Brad (Patty) Billings of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Mike (Kay) Billings of Story City, Iowa, Vicki Hyland of Swisher, Iowa and Todd (Sharon) Billings of Geneva, Illinois; ten great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Anita Johnson and Dorothy Probasbo, both of Newton, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews, including Larry Beck of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Marilyn Gordon of Cedar Falls and Joyce Boylan of Longmont, Colorado.
