MERVIN LAVERNE
BURNS, 67, of Cedar Falls died Friday, October 22, 2004 at his son's home in Tucson, Arizona. He was born February 24, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Melvin & Geraldine (Nordman) Burns. He married Viola M. Morrison November 10, 1956 in Waterloo. Melvin was employed by John Deere & Company for 31 years retiring in 1992.
Survivors include his wife, Viola of Cedar Falls; three sons, Tony (Pam) Burns of Cedar Falls, Alan (Sandy) Burns of Tucson, Arizona, Ricky Burns of BeiCheng, China; one granddaughter, Christy Burns; his parents of Waterloo; one brother, Monte (Karen) Burns of Waterloo; and two sisters, Barbara Munson of Des Moines, Iowa and Holly (Greg) Lehean of Idaho. Mervin was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lori Burns and a sister in infancy.
Memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2004 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
