Merlyn L Galle

Merlyn L. Galle, 86, of Denver, died Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Flagstaff Medical Center in  Flagstaff, Arizona. He was born May 27, 1923 the son of Frank and Edna (Shields) Galle in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Merlyn married Helen I. Weidemann on July 9, 1943 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death June 7, 1999. Merlyn was a trucker for many years and retired as a bus driver for North West  Tours..

He is survived by two son, Rande (Sandra) Galle of New Hartford and Ronald (Sandra) Galle  of Waterloo; two daughters, Dorothy (Bill) Peightal of Fort Mojave,  Arizona and Rhonda (Mary Anderson) Galle of Williams, Arizona; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren and one sister Dorothy Lochner of Austin Minnesota.

Merlyn was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandson and one great grandson.

Funeral services  will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with one hour of visitation before  services. Burial will be in Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Memorials may be directed to the family.
