Merlin Mccabe

Merlin McCabe, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center. Merlin was born April 13, 1927 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Charles & Lois (Jante) McCabe. He married Mary Ann Emmel May 4, 1954 in Charles City, Iowa. She preceded him in death May 18, 2015. Merlin graduated from Charles City High School and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was employed with U.S. West Telephone Company for 37 years retiring in 1989.

Survivors include his son, John (Karen) McCabe of Cedar Falls; his daughter, Sherry (Anthony) Woodmancy of Crofton, Maryland; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a grandson and a great granddaughter.
