MAYNARD L. DEBOER,
87, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 24, 2005, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. He was born June 24, 1917 in Dexter, Minnesota, the son of Estert and Anna (Lindberg) DeBoer. He married Alice Hansen on March 7, 1940 in Stout, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 27, 1987. Maynard farmed for 53 years in rural Cedar Falls.
Survivors include his two daughters, Karen Kugel of Cedar Falls and Toni (Peter) Mueller of Marion, Iowa; his son, Lynn (Claudia) DeBoer of Wellsburg, Iowa; five grandchildren, Kenneth L. Kugel, Kevin L. Kugel, Kurt L. Kugel, Daniel L. Barkhoff and Sandy J. Schebler; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Virgil (Donna) DeBoer. Maynard was preceded in death by his wife and parents; a brother, Maurice Nielsen; and a sister, Gladys Wefel.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 28, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.
