Maxine A. Rasmussen

Maxine A. Rasmussen, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, June 4, 2012, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. She was born October 24, 1924 at Dike, Iowa, the daughter of Dick B. and Beatrice (Force) Webrand. Maxine married Carl P. Rasmussen October 22, 1943 at Fredsville Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death December 19, 2000. She graduated from New Hartford High School in 1942. Maxine and her husband Carl farmed for many years and later she was employed at the University of Northern Iowa Biology Lab for twenty-one years, retiring in 1984. Maxine is survived by her daughter, Karen (Satch) Mukai, of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Richard Webrand. Graveside committal services will be 1:00 pm Friday, June 8, 2012, at Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls, followed by a 2:00 pm memorial service at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm, Thursday, June 7, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Western Home Communities and Nazareth Lutheran Church.
