MAXINE E. OLDENBURGER was born December 26, 1917 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of George W. and Edna A. (Otto) Miller. She graduated from East High School in Waterloo, Iowa and from Moody Bible Institute in Miami, Florida. Maxine was Director of Nursing at Presbyterian Hospital in Waterloo and administrator of the LPN program at Waterloo Schools, which later became Hawkeye Institute of Technology. In later years, she became a real estate broker with her husband. Maxine died at her home Sunday, May 18, 2003, at the age of 85 years.
She is survived by her husband, John B. Oldenburger of Cedar Falls, Iowa and one daughter, Linda Osborn of West Des Moines, Iowa; one sister, Marian Swank of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Vera Miller and Margaret Hinkley.
Services were 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 23, 2003 at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established.
