Maxine E Fahrer

Maxine E. Fahrer, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.  Maxine was born February 5, 1922 at Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew & Olinda (Buenger) Carstensen.  She married John Fahrer February 16, 1941 at Finchford, Iowa.

Survivors include her husband, John Fahrer, of Cedar Falls; her son, Ronald (Ann Dirksen-Fahrer) Fahrer, of Waverly; two daughters, Linda Matthias, of Cedar Falls and Jeneane Ellis, of Waterloo, eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Roger Matthias; one brother, Leslie Carstensen; and three sisters, Vada Kelley, Ruby Nielsen and Jeanette Mahlstedt.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to service time at the church.   Memorials may be directed to Western Home Communities.
