MAXINE C. CHRISTENSEN, 87, of Cedar Falls, died at home on Tuesday, September 26, 2006. She was born September 7, 1919 at Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Chester A. and Inez (Smith) Boyd. Maxine married James Christensen on November 16, 1939 at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2003.
Survivors include a son, Jim "Chris" (Carol) Christensen, of Waterloo; a daughter, Sandra K. (Dave) Carson, of Des Moines; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great great-grandson; and a brother, Max Boyd, of Hudson, Iowa.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sons, Jon S. and Jan Clifford Christensen; and a sister, Marlys Virchow.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 29, 2006, at Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—8:00 pm Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church.
