Max C. Schultz, 91, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Osage, Iowa, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at Sartori Hospital. He was born April 17, 1920 at Haubstadt, Indiana, the son of George A. and Mathilda (Rohlfing) Schultz. He married Alice A. Pruessner September 6, 1948 in Kewanee, Illinois. She preceded him in death May 23, 2006. Max was a pastor in the United Church of Christ and served churches in Geneseo and Chicago, Illinois, Hebron, North Dakota, Detroit, Michigan, Roseville, Minnesota, and Akron, Ohio. Max retired in 1986 and he and his wife Alice moved to Osage, Iowa. He moved to Cedar Falls in 2011. Max had many hobbies, including stamp and coin collecting, gardening and traveling to Germany many times with his wife. He is survived by three sons, Dr. Georg (Elizabeth) Schultz of St. Joseph, Michigan, Rev. James (LeeAnna) Schultz of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Paul (Dr. Denise) Schultz of Baltimore, Maryland; two daughters, Dorothea (Rev. Dennis) Hanson of Cedar Falls, and Elizabeth (John) Kappler of Shoreville, Minnesota; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Valerius Schultz, of Hermann, Missouri, and two sisters, Helene (Rev. Dale) Krampe of Marthasville, Missouri, and Margaret Schultz of Washington, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Osage Cemetery in Osage, Iowa.
