Mata Dahlgaard

Mata M. Dahlgaard, 90, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born January 10, 1923 in Waterloo, the daughter of Harland and Elvina (Iverson) Jones. Mata married Roger C. Dahlgaard in September of 1944 in New York, and they later divorced. Survivors include two sons, Roger C. Dahlgaard, Jr. of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Robert H. (Linda) Dahlgaard of Waterloo; two daughters, Diana D. (Clyde) Varney of Kingwood, Texas and Debhora K. Boeckmann of Anamosa, Iowa; ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Mata was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with burial at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Visitation will be 46:00 p.m. Monday, and one hour before service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
