Maryella Willis, 93, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Ottumwa, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born May 25, 1918, near Agency, daughter of Frederick Orion and Ethel O'Rourke Shank. She married Charles Fulton Morrissey on May 25, 1946. He died Jan. 28, 1947. She married Flyn Willis on Oct. 1, 1948. He died Oct. 28, 1993. A resident of Ottumwa for most of her life, Mrs. Willis had been employed by the state of Iowa Job Service Office. Survived by: a daughter, Mary-Sue Bartlett (David Drenner) of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Erin Meg (Brian) Straw of Cedar Falls and Lucas O'Rourke (Cass) Bartlett of Bowling Green, Ky.; four great-granddaughters, Avery Winter Straw and Lakin Rayne Straw, both of Cedar Falls, and Emerson Grace Bartlett and Finley Ann Bartlett, both of Bowling Green; a sister, Madeline McCombs of Fairfield; a brother, William Conrad (Maxine) Shank of Bella Vista, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Barbara (Staebler) Rogers of Palm Desert, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: a son-in-law, Donald R. Bartlett. Private family graveside services: March 9 in Ottumwa. Condolences may be left at www.dahlfuneralhome.com. Maryella loved to do crossword puzzles, spend time with her family, and she especially enjoyed taking her two grandchildren when they were younger on trips throughout the United States and Alaska.
