MaryAnn Ford (Mayne), 88, of Cedar Falls, passed away at NewAldaya Lifescapes on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. She was born in Dubuque on March 14, 1937, daughter of Harry and Louise (Maus) Mayne.  MaryAnn attended West High School in Waterloo. She married Robert Hovey, Sr. on June 5, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waterloo and they had a son together, later divorcing. MaryAnn, then, married Lawrence Ford, but they divorced.  She worked for Chicken on Wheels when she was younger, then the Waterloo Schools transportation division for 30 years retiring in 1996, and also at the Starlight Drive-in Theater.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Beverly Hackley, Jerry Mayne, Thomas Mayne and Peggy Trent. She is survived by her son, Robert (Kari) Hovey, Jr. of Des Moines; 2 granddaughters, Angela Lynn Macha and Melissa Ann Sills both of West Des Moines; great-grandchildren: Leylin Mikaeyla Hovey of Norwalk and Caiden Robert Lane of West Des Moines; sisters, Nancy Knief and Sandra Althof; many nieces and nephews; and her feline "son", Charlie.

MaryAnn's family will host a Celebration of Life Visitation at Pfeiffer Park in Cedar Falls from 1-3:00 pm on Saturday, June 14, 2025. Memorials may be directed to the family.

MaryAnn was very fun-loving. Through the years, she enjoyed traveling to Colorado for summer months spent with her siblings. She was a huge sports fan, especially of the Denver Broncos, Chicago Cubs but above all else, the Iowa Hawkeyes.
