Mary R Smith

MARY RUTH BABCOCK SMITH was born March 26, 1921, in Amherst, South Dakota, the daughter of Ray Porter and Anna Frances (Curr) Babcock.  She married M. B. Smith on November 24, 1943 in Watertown, South Dakota.  Mary was a graduate of Northern State Teacher's College in Aberdeen, South Dakota.  She taught school in Brown County, South Dakota; was a machine bookkeeper in Los Angeles, California; and designed homes and worked at the public library after moving to Cedar Falls, Iowa.   Mary died Friday, September 17, 1999, at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Falls, at 78 years of age.

She is survived by her husband of Cedar Falls. Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
