Mary C Rose

Mary Catherine "Kay" Rose, 88, of Cedar Falls, died of natural causes on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls.  She was born December 28, 1921 in Melbourne, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. Charles E. and Ruby (Scott) Titus.  Kay married Heinz H. Rose on August 22, 1943 at The Wee Kirk O' The Heather at Forest Lawn in Glendale, California.  Kay attended Melbourne High School and the University of Iowa.  She was a saleswoman at the Blacks/Donaldson Department Store in Waterloo/Cedar Falls and retired in 1988.  Kay was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by three sons, Eric, Fred (Nancy), and Rod (Laurie), all of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Pamela (Art) Elliott, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Heinz, two brothers, Kenneth and Merle, and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rose.

Services will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at 2:00 pm Saturday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown.  Visitation will be 4—6:00 pm Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to Christian Crusaders, the Western Home Communities, or Cedar Bend Humane Society.
