Mary E. Neith

Mary E. Neith, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.  She was born October 27, 1934 in Waterloo, the daughter of Shurley and Anne (Malone) Stripe.  Mary married Charles Mathes on November 8, 1953 in Cedar Falls.  He preceded her in death on August 9, 1962.  She married Robert Neith on October 17, 1971 in Waverly.  He preceded her in death on April 9, 2003.  Mary graduated from Waverly High School and Hawkeye Community College.  She was a nurse's aide for 10 years, retiring in 1991.  Mary was a member of the Cedar Falls Fraternal Order of Eagles.

She is survived by her son, Steve (Deysi) Neith, of Waterloo; her three daughters, Mary Ann (Fuzzy) Liddell of Cedar Falls, Sue (Roger) Albert of Waterloo and Cindy (Bill) Bandfield of Dinsdale, Iowa; four step sons; two step daughters; 17 grandchildren; many step grandchildren; many great grandchildren, and her brother, Ed Lenius, of Mason City, Iowa.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and a granddaughter, Carrie.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, and one hour before service, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or La Porte City Specialty Care-La Porte City, Iowa.   Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
