MARY LOU LONGSETH was born October 18, 1940 in rural Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Holm) Doddema. She married Stuart Longseth on November 17, 1959 at Fredsville Lutheran Church in rural Cedar Falls, Iowa. Mary was a 1958 graduate of Dike High School. She worked in the Environmental Services Department for 12 years at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls and was a licensed beautician. Mary died Sunday, January 6, 2002, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, at 61 years of age.
She is survived by her husband, Stuart of Cedar Falls; her daughter, Pam Longseth of Waterloo, Iowa and her fiance Kelly Nordman; two brothers, Floyd Doddema of Des Moines, Iowa and Dale Doddema of Cedar Falls, and three sisters, Gloria Abbas of Dike, Iowa, Marcia Bengen of Junction City, Oregon and Wanda Nielsen of Dike, Iowa.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Violet May Johnson and two brothers, Ernest Doddema in infancy and Paul Doddema.
Memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2002, at the United Methodist Church in Dike, Iowa. A memorial fund will be established.
