Mary "Lou" Isley

Mary "Lou" Isley, 83, of Waterloo passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at the Cedar Valley Hospice House.  She was born in Osceola, on October 12, 1935, daughter of William and Wilma (Powell) James.  Lou graduated from Leon High School and moved to Waterloo where she worked in the offices at Rath Packing Company.  She was married to Charles Isley on January 22, 1955, at Washington Chapel in Cedar Falls.  Lou worked for K-mart as a sales associate for 20 years before retiring in 1998.

Lou was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles, in 2011; her daughter, Susan Isley in 1978; 2 sisters, Marceline Wilma Laffoon and Linda Kay James; 2 brothers, Herbert Francis James and William Merle James.  She is survived by her 2 sons, Ron (Miyuki) Isley of Richland, Michigan and Brian (Cathy) Isley of Mediapolis, Iowa; 4 grandchildren:  Eric, Leanne, Leif and Anthony Isley.

Lou's funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at 11:00 am with an hour of visitation prior at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church of Waterloo.  Burial will be at Waterloo Memorial Park.  Memorials may be directed to the family and online condolences can be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.

Lou was an avid reader.  She loved being outside and enjoyed gardening and yard work.  Lou was also a longtime member at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church where she had many friends.
