Mary Lee Dove

Mary Lee Norton Dove, 79, of New Hartford, Iowa, went to be with her Lord in the early hours of Saturday, May 30, 2015, after a fall at home and hospitalization at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. She was born November 25, 1935 in New Hartford, the daughter of Harry and Agnes (Aagaard) Norton. Mary Lee was united in marriage to Dallas "Butch" Dove on July 15, 1961 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She was a graduate of New Hartford High School and later was the secretary there for several years. Mary Lee was also a homemaker, mother and raised and trained her own horses. She was a member of the New Hartford Saddle Club. Mary Lee loved her family, her horses, and many of the simple things in life. Mary Lee is survived by her husband, Dallas "Butch" Dove, of New Hartford; two sons, Brent (Burnette) Dove of New Hartford and Byron (Laura) Dove of Dike, Iowa; a daughter, Marlas (Steve) Latwesen, of New Hartford; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Ashtyn and Carlee Dove, Madison and Hannah Dove, and Kelsey, Sydney and Parker Latwesen; her brother, James Byron (Mary) Norton, of New Hartford, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Candi Marie Dove, a grandson, Brady Dallas Dove, and a sister, Harriet Albert Buddenberg. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at New Hartford United Methodist Church, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford. Visitation will be 47:00 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
