MARY M. ALLENDER was born November 11, 1906 in Linn County, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Emma (Neckville) Petrak. She married Floyd O. Allender on May 23, 1929. He preceded her in death in September of 1989. Mary was a graduate of Central City High School and taught school in rural Linn County for several years. She died Saturday, December 11, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa, at 93 years of age.

Mary is survived by her son, Donald D. Allender and her daughter, Jacqueline Wilson, both of Cedar Falls, Iowa; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; two grandchildren and her two brothers, Frankie and Lewis Petrak.

Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 1999, at Burton Avenue Baptist Church in Waterloo, with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Hispanic Ministry at Burton Avenue Baptist Church, 900 Burton Avenue, Waterloo, Iowa 50703.
