Marvin Rohm, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at the Western Home Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. He was born December 25, 1921 in Decorah, Iowa, the son of Ole and Thorbjorg (Skaftedal) Rohm. Marvin married Ruth E. Anderson on July 31, 1948 in Lake Mills, Iowa. She preceded him in death on August 13, 2012. Marvin served as a First Lieutenant and pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WW II. He received his B.A. from Luther College and his M.A. in music from Drake University. Marvin was a teacher, musician and realtor for many years. He was a member of the Metropolitan Chorale and the Proud Image Barbershop Chorus. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Rohm of House Springs, Missouri and Nikki Rohm of Seattle, Washington; a son, Eric Rohm, of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and a sister, Anna Rohm, of Decorah, Iowa. Marvin was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
