Marvin Edward Minikus, 73, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, December 20, 2013, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. He was born October 8, 1940 in New Hartford, Iowa, the son of Earl and Maxine (Brennan) Minikus. Marvin was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and worked at John Deere & Company in Waterloo for thirty years, retiring in 1994 from Dept. 310. Survivors include two sisters, Wilma (Dick) Boger of Aplington, Iowa and Brenda (Brian) Holman of Waterloo; five brothers, Lee (Carol) Minikus of Cedar Falls, Gene (Cindy) Minikus of Waterloo, Jeff (Brody) Minikus of Nashville, Tennessee, Gary (Michelle) Minikus of North Liberty, Iowa and Larry Minikus of Waterloo; three step sisters, Lucretia Krawietz of Texas, Connie Story and Peggy Jacks, both of Wylie, Texas, and many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Earlene Howard and Angela Minikus, and a step brother, Jerry Kimber. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 47:00 p.m. Monday, and one hour before service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
