Marvin F. Calvert, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 10, 2012, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. He was born November 25, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Harry and Katie (Wiegman) Calvert. Marvin married Jeanette Norman March 18, 1956 in Waterloo and she preceded him in death on June 11, 1983. He married Geri M. Brown on September 13, 1997 in Cedar Falls. Marvin was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a barber and opened his own shop in Evansdale and retired in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Geri Calvert, of Cedar Falls; one son, David Calvert, of Iowa City; two daughters, Debora (Andrew) Faugstad, of Northwood, Iowa and Barbara Calvert, of Hudson; one step-son, Larry (Susan) Brown of Frederika, Iowa and one step-daughter, Sheri (Clayton) Herman of Fairfield, Iowa; seven step grandchildren and eleven step great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Marjorie) Calvert of Fort Worth, Texas, and two sisters Lou Jean Schake, of Bellingham, Minnesota, and Mary (Dale) Fagerlind, of Rochester, Minnesota. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Jeanette, and one brother, Calvin Calvert. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo where Military honors will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS post 31..
