Martin T. Holst, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, December 17, 2009, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.  Martin was born October 21, 1922, in Cedar Falls, the son of Thorvald & Mary (Rasmussen) Holst.  He married Evelyn "Sue" Prostine June 16, 1957, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.  Martin graduated from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and received his MBA from Stanford University.  After graduation, he joined his father in Holst Printing which became Holst Business Products in 1967.  He retired in 1988 and started Holst Enterprises, which he operated until 2007.  He was past president of the Cedar Falls Library Board. He was a member of the Cedar Falls Municipal Band for over 50 years.  He served on the board of directors of the Cedar Falls Lions Club, Arcturus Club, and the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, as well as serving on the church council at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  Martin enjoyed photography and tennis.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn "Sue" Holst, of Cedar Falls; four sons, Martin P. (Lauren) Holst, of Cedar Falls, John C. (Dina) Holst, of Saratoga, California, Paul D. (Andrea) Holst, of Cedar Falls, and David T. (Jennifer) Holst, of West Des Moines, Iowa; and four grandchildren, Gwendolyn Holst, Jeremy Holst, Paige King, and Thor Baier-Holst.  Martin was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.  Memorials may be directed to the church or the Danish Immigrant Museum in Elk Horn, Iowa.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com
