Martha J. Hum

Martha J. Hum, 89, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Ravenhood Nursing & Rehab in Waterloo. Martha was born June 18, 1925, in rural Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Alfons & Josephine (Schumacher) Hum. She was a dishwasher at the YMCA Grill and Morg's Diner for many years. Survivors include two brothers, Paul (Carol) Hum of Evansdale, Iowa and Carl (Lucille) Hum of Bessemer, Alabama; a sister, Frances (Ron) Ciesielski of Independence, Iowa, and many nieces and nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary (Willys) Benson; a sister in law, Sue Hum, three nieces, one nephew, and a great nephew. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
