Marlys Smith

Marlys F. Smith, 73, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital, in Waterloo. Marlys was born December 7, 1941, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Chris & Kamilla (Andersen) Christensen. She married Doyle Smith in 1962 in Manassas, Virginia. He preceded her in death November 18, 1993. Marlys graduated from Cedar Falls High School. She was a greeter at Walmart for 25 years retiring in 2009. Survivors include her son, Christian (Kay) Smith, of Alexander, Alabama; her daughter, Melissa (Roy) Forney, of LaPorte City, Iowa; two grandchildren; her brother, Jerrold (Sandra) Christensen, of Dike, Iowa and her sister, Ann (Les) Seavey, of Cedar Falls. Marlys was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Marilyn Christensen Private graveside services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation.
