Marlene Eloise Rasmussen

Marlene Eloise Rasmussen, 90, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Thuesen Cottage at Western Home Communities. She was born June 19, 1934, in Cresco, the only child of Elmer and Mable (Walters) Schild. Marlene graduated from Cedar Falls High School then attended Iowa State Teacher's College. She married Don J. Rasmussen on April 29, 1956, at the First Evangelical Church of the Brethren in Cedar Falls. She was a loving wife and mother, and worked at Opal's Flowers, for her mother-in-law, on Saturdays when she could leave her girls home with Don.

Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 64 years, Don.  She is survived by 2 daughters, Kim (Peter) Wilcox of Cedar Falls and Terri (Craig) Strein of Waterloo.

Marlene's memorial service will be at 3:00 pm on Monday, March 3, 2025, with visitation one hour prior to the service at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church or Western Home Communities and condolences can be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.

Marlene was happiest when she was busy working in the dirt. She loved growing flowers and gardening until she passed. Marlene also started many new African violets from leaves.
