Mark Carsten Leen

Mark Carsten Leen, 76, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, August 23, 2012, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. He was born August 13, 1936 in Jackson, Minnesota, the son of Carsten and Ruth (Jacobsen) Leen. Mark married Mary Gerdes on June 25, 1961 in Woden, Iowa. Mark earned his BS in Agricultural Engineering from Iowa State University and was a Design Engineer at Clay Equipment Company in Cedar Falls. Survivors include his wife, Mary Leen, of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Anne Pearce, of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois; a grandson, Ryan Pearce, and a brother-in-law, James Winkelman, of Boulder, Colorado. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Virginia Winkelman and Shirley Mann. Services will be 11:00 am Monday, August 27, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church, with a 10:00 am Monday committal service at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 25:00 pm Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the church and NewAldaya Lifescapes (Cedar Falls Lutheran Home).
