Mark Robert Atkins, 41, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born January 15, 1972 in Sutton Coldfield, England, the son of Michael Robert Stanley and June (Cheneler) Atkins. Mark married Miyuki Fujita in Toledo, Ohio. He received his degree in Engineering from the University of Central England in Birmingham and worked for John Deere & Company for many years, most recently in Waterloo, Iowa. Survivors include his wife, Miyuki Fujita Atkins, of Cedar Falls; his daughter, Jenna Sachiyo Atkins age 10 and his three sons, Sidney Tsuneharu Atkins age 9, Preston Minoru Atkins age 8 and Britain Masaya Atkins age 6, all of Cedar Falls; his mother, June Atkins, of Tamworth, England; his brother, Sean Richard (Jaim) Atkins, of Cairns, Australia; two brothers-in-law, Naoya (Akiko) Fujita of Bakersfield, California and Hiroya (Fumiko) Fujita of Suzuka, Japan; three nieces, Esther Jaim Atkins of Cairns, and Yukino and Misa Fujita of Suzuka, and three nephews, Yuya and Kazuya Fujita of Bakersfield, and Hiroki Fujita of Suzuka. Mark was preceded in death by his father and his father and mother-in-law, Tsuneharu and Sachiyo Fujita. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for the Mark Atkins Memorial Fund for his Children's Education.
