Marjorie A Mixdorf

Marjorie A. Mixdorf, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at The Western Home Communities Thalman Square, Cedar Falls.  She was born July 3, 1925 in Greeley, Iowa, the daughter of Ben and Gertrude (Ryan) Odell.  Marjorie married Merwyn H. Mixdorf on August 21, 1949 in Greeley.  She graduated from Greeley High School and the University of Dubuque.  Marjorie was a primary school teacher, teaching at Head Start in the metropolitan area, for twenty-seven years, retiring in 1985.

Survivors include her husband, Merwyn Mixdorf, of Cedar Falls; a son, Jon (Robin) Mixdorf, of Center Point, Iowa; three daughters, Mary (Ken) Conlee of Lees Summit, Missouri, Julie (Gary) Read of Carrollton, Texas and Michelle "Shelley" (Bruce) Verink of Cedar Falls; ten grandchildren and a brother, Ben (Betty) Odell, Shorewood, Illinois.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sandra Kreuz.

Services will be 3:00 pm Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be one hour before the service.  Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or The Western Home Foundation.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
