Marjorie M. Megan, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Denver Sunset Home, Denver, Iowa. She was born March 15, 1936 in Chickasaw County, Iowa, the daughter of F. Raymond and Rose (Kipp) Britt. Marjorie attended country school near Fredericksburg, Iowa. She married Jerome "Jerry" Megan on March 27, 1951 in Lawler, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2008. Marjorie was a devoted wife and mother, and farmed with her husband for many years. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Auxiliary, Denver American Legion Post 653 and the Cedar Falls Eagles Club.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Catherine (Bill) Stensland of Forest City, Iowa, Mary (Lynn) Coen of Zearing, Iowa, Carol (Jim) Faust of Ankeny, Iowa and John Megan of Cedar Falls; a daughter-in-law, Tammy (Kim) Davis, of Waterloo, Iowa; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, and her sister, Rose Hanson, of Appleton, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sons, Michael and Francis Megan, and two brothers, Tom and Jim Britt.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, www.DahlFuneralHome.com, and one hour before service at the church. In lieu of flowers/plants, memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the family.
