Marjorie Jeanne Rasmussen Lange passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on January 15, 2024. She was born 7/3/29 (10-1/2# but maybe you don't have to tell that) in Graettinger, Iowa, to the late William A. & Esther (Lande) Rasmussen, she was baptized on 8/11/29 and confirmed on 6/13/43 at First Lutheran Church in Graettinger, Iowa. Marjorie graduated from Graettinger High School on 5/27/47 and went on to attend Luther College where she played the saxophone in the LCCB under Dr. Weston Noble. Marjorie was an accountant working out of her home until the children were out of school at which time she began working for Pastor Homer Larson at Nazareth Luther Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Marjorie was a faithful servant of God and enjoyed the time spent with her children, grandchildren and the many friends she had over the years. Was a wonderful cook and baker, there was always homemade cookies in the house. She also enjoyed sewing and cross-stitching and was an avid Hawkeyes fan. Her and Harold enjoyed traveling, including driving their pickup camper to Alaska and flying to Hawaii.
On 11/24/51 Marjorie married Harold T.W. Lange at First Lutheran Church in Graettinger, Iowa. They had two children, Michael (Debra) Lange and Melanie Lange Bruck, five grandchildren, Jeffrey Lange, Amber Salamanca, Cody (Tessa) Lange, Ben (Kyla) Anderson, Luke Anderson and a step-grandson Dustin Hlubek. Seven great grandchildren, Dylan Lange, Mason Lange, Cole Schmitz, Camila Salamanca, Amelie Salamanca, Suri Salamanca and Parker Lange, two step-great grandchildren Mikayla Hlubek and Nathan Hlubek. She was preceded in death by her husband on 3/20/97, her parents, and four brothers, Ralph, William, Richard and Donald.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
The funeral service for Marjorie will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at 1:30 PM on Friday at Fairview Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is assisting the family.
