MARJORIE LORRAINE BAKER,
was born November 1, 1918, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Frank A. and Mildred M. (Freet) Ahlhelm. She married Sidney B. Baker September 4, 1937 in the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. He died May 27, 1995. Marjorie worked at the University of Northern Iowa as an assistant food director, retiring in 1980. She died, Monday, May 23, 2005, at Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls, at the age of 86 years.
Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Marjorie K. (Rudy) Mohl of New Hartford, Iowa and Vicki Ann (Terry) Smith of Cedar Falls, Iowa; seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren; a brother, Frank A. (Bev) Ahlhelm of Mesa, Arizona; and two nieces, Betty Lou Barrett and Evelyn Jean Frink.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Steven; one grand daughter, Mary Ann and one grandson Kim Allen.
Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church in Cedar Falls.
