Marion J Mills

Marion Junior Mills (JR) passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, surrounded by his family, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN from cancer. Junior was born in Waterloo, IA on July 3, 1938 to Holly Marion and Grace Elizabeth (Vaughn) Mills. He grew up in North Cedar and attended both country school and Janesville High School. On May 8, 1960, he married Irene Ann Eickelberg and they lived in Denver, IA for thirty-one years. He owned and operated the Denver Locker for thirty plus years and received many awards and achievements for his sausage making. In 1992, Junior and his wife moved to Spicer, MN, where they enjoyed fishing and dancing. He also became a turkey grader for the USDA, a job he enjoyed until the very end.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with inurnment in Hillside Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 5—8 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. A gathering at the Denver Legion will follow the graveside service.
