Marilyn E Rasmussen

Marilyn E. Rasmussen, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 11, 2011 at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Falls. She was born August 2, 1927 in Nashua, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel and Ethel (Albaugh) McGrath. Marilyn married Donald Rasmussen at Nazareth Lutheran Church October 4, 1980. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1945. Before her retirement she worked for GMAC, retiring in 1990.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Rasmussen of Cedar Falls; one son Daniel Walters of Sparta, Wisconsin; four daughters, Sue Rogers of Tucson, Arizona, Julianne (Steve) Tyler of Memphis, Tennessee, Janet (Lorne) Bidwell of Cedar Falls and Amy Walters of Des Moines; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; and two  brothers, Gerald (Rose) McGrath of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin and Gene McGrath of New Hampton.

She was preceded in death by parents and three brothers, Burke, Bob and Merle McGrath.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2011 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before services on Tuesday at the church.
