MARIE ROBINSON was born November 11, 1934 at Ponca City, Oklahoma, the daughter of George B. and Opal Josephine (Pasley) Burke. She married Robert L. Robinson May 18, 1956 at Ponca City, Oklahoma. Marie graduated from St. John School of Nursing in Ponca City, OK in 1956, received her BSN from Upper Iowa University in 1983, and her MA in Community Health Education from University of Northern Iowa in 1984. Marie was a nurse at Sartori Hospital, taught Clinical Nursing at Hawkeye Tech, and was with the Iowa State Inspection & Appeals, retiring in 1996. She died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at Sartori Hospital, Cedar Falls, Iowa at the age of 70 years. Marie is survived by her husband, Robert L. Robinson, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one son, Mark Peters (Gloria) Robinson, of Hanover, PA.; two daughters, Janis Marie (Daniel) McGinnis of Marshalltown, Iowa and Karen Beth (Tim) Suich of Millington, TN.; seven grandchildren, Scott, Steven, Laura and Megan Robinson, Jason & Jesse McGinnis, and Gerald Clark; and one sister, Alyce Faye (James) London of Blackwell, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold and Ivan Burke.

Family-directed memorial services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2005 at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Black Hawk County in Cedar Falls, with inurnment at later date. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be made to the Business & Professional Women Scholarship Fund.
