MARIE YVONNE MURRAY was born June 2, 1927 in Greene, Iowa, the daughter of John E. "Jack" and Annie L. (Barth) Dorman. She married Rollin Earl Murray on August 27, 1949 in Maryville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 21, 1979. Marie was a 1945 graduate of Janesville High School and worked in the Plant Services Department at the University of Northern Iowa for 13 years, retiring in 1993. She died Monday, June 3, 2002, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa, at 75 years of age.
Marie is survived by her children, Charlene Hughes of Dunkerton, Iowa, Richard and David Murray, both of Waterloo, and Pam Eckhoff, Janet Murray, Jolene Whitcomb and John Murray, all of Cedar Falls, Iowa; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Harold Dorman and three sisters, Marcella Carlson, Vesta Warrick and Marie's twin sister, Mary Lou Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a daughter, Donna Jean Murray and a brother, Percy Dorman.
Memorial services were 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with inurnment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. There will be no visitation, her body was cremated. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society, Waterloo, Iowa.
